The Born to Love Wild authors all came together to answer some questions about their stories for the anthology.

Here, they discuss their likes and dislikes about summer.

Andie Biagini – “Water Temperature”
An engineering student and a cryptozoologist. One of them can talk to sea monsters, but it’s not who you think.

Love how late the sun stays out, hate sunburns.

J. Bigelow – “Focal Point”

Sometimes a wizard from Sweden needs help from a medium from Michigan.

My favorite thing about summer is the smell of fresh cut grass. My least favorite thing is the high humidity.

M.T. DeSantis - “Forever Love”

To find a chance… A chance to find…

My favorite thing about summer now is that I’m back in a climate zone where summer doesn’t mean 90 degrees with 90% humidity four months out of the year. The cooler version is the kind of summer I grew up with, and it’s the kind I prefer. My least favorite thing is a toss-up between sunburns and mosquitos. Sunburns are just no fun, and mosquitoes apparently love my blood.

Traci Douglass – “Blood Strong: A Blood Ravagers Novella”

One guardian demon in love. One witch with a secret crush. One evil threatening their newfound connection.

I love sitting outside in the evenings and just watching the sky and the fireflies. Fun fact: Indiana, where I live, just named the firefly our state insect. My least favorite thing is probably the high heat and humidity. I mean, you can always put more clothes on in the winter, if you’re cold. But there’s only so much you can take off in the summer, if you’re hot.

Read Gallo – “The Flying Saltines”

When a river falls in love with an ordinary person will New York City survive?

My favorite is writing summer anthologies. I hate the heat and my house is set to a crisp Fall temp all year round. I do enjoy swimming, but in heated pools because I like to bring my husband and he burns faster than paper.

Pepper McGraw – “Full Moon Shenanigans”

The full moon’s coming and it’s time to embrace the wildness within.

There’s just so much to love about summer. Everything seems brighter and full of possibility. I love the sunshine, the weather, swimming and travel. The list is endless. Honestly, I think the only thing I don’t like about summer is the yardwork—it’s never ending!

Cara McKinnon - “A Change of Heart”

She’s a hybrid shifter who’s not supposed to exist. He’s a wolf who was born to protect her. But her secrets force him to choose: his mate, or his pack loyalty?

I have nostalgic memories of summer as a kid, spending all day in the pool at my house and going to the beach with friends of my family. Current reality seems somehow hotter and muggier than those golden days of my childhood. Oh, and a lot buggier, too. But I do enjoy watching my kids enjoying summer. My daughter loves catching fireflies and my son wants to spend every night in his tent in the yard.

Sheri Queen - “The Robinson Agency”

Some are born with the gift to see into the future. Others create their own destiny.

I love the sunny weather and no snow of summer. I get tired of shoveling in the winter. Lol. I love the summer sunshine but scorching hot days are stifling.
